Low Mood and Inflammation

A 2018 study published in the Journal of Brain, Behavior and Immunity finds an association between low mood and inflammation.

Researchers at Penn State used questionnaires and biomarkers (serum) of inflammation to determine if there was an association between low mood and inflammation. In short, what they found was “negative mood — such as sadness and anger — is associated with higher levels of inflammation and may be a signal of poor health”.

Inflammation can come from different sources such as stress, negative thinking, bad relationships, poor diet, poor digestion, nutritional deficiencies, food intolerances, infections, environmental toxins, heavy metals, trauma and the list goes on. The best strategy conducive to healing is finding the source or sources of inflammation and correcting them. The body will then be able to heal itself.

When dealing with depression or any chronic condition finding the root cause of the symptoms is key in order to create optimal health.

  2. First off I would like to say awesome blog!
I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was interested to find out how you center yourself and
clear your mind prior to writing. I’ve had a tough time clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out.
I truly do take pleasure in writing however
it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are
wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints?
    Thanks!

Thank you for visiting…great questions. It is a process for me. I first think about my message. I pray about it…I let it simmer in my head…I do a high intensity interval work out or go for a run…and then ideas start flowing. Sometimes, after I wake up the next day I get ideas. As I write I pray that God will guide me. When I finally sit down and write I write bullet points of my ideas. Other times, I just start writing in any order and then I go back and organize. The key thing is to start writing even when you don’t know how to start or exactly what to write…by writing whatever comes to mind is a great start as you always can come back and reorganize, add, subtract, etc. When you do this, don’t place judgment as this will prevent the flow of ideas. Just let it flow. Once you get something written, then you can correct, organize, add, etc. I find that when I write, I start making a lot of connections and new questions come up on my subject that I may further research and add to my writing. I hope that helps.
